A technically valid EAN or UPC barcode does not prove GS1 registration or ownership. This tool creates static barcodes locally in your browser.

Choose the right barcode standard

Code 128 and Code 39 can encode general identifiers. EAN and UPC are fixed-length retail symbologies with check digits. ITF accepts digit pairs and is useful for some logistics workflows.

A technically valid EAN or UPC symbol is not evidence that a number is registered to your product. Confirm number ownership and retailer requirements separately before using a barcode commercially.

Common questions

Why does the tool reject my value?

Each barcode type permits a specific character set and, for some types, a precise length or check digit. Check the selected type and remove unsupported characters.

How should I print it?

Use the SVG or a high-resolution PNG, keep the quiet margins clear, and test a real print with the scanner you plan to use.

Learn the difference between common barcode formats, how check digits work, and why a valid-looking barcode still needs a real scanner test.
